Our dear compatriot, Sandra, in Missouri, wrote to tell me that the cancer she successful defeated five years ago is back.  She asked for prayer and emotional fortitude.  Please add her to your list.

When “I” is replace by “WE” – even “illness” becomes “WELLNESS”….. May you be given what your heart desires and have peace.

I pray for Sandra. As long as you have breath God isn’t finished with you. be faithful as you have been and keep on believing God will do His work in and through you. I will add You to my prayer list. I would love to be able to be updated when you want to. God bless, my spiritual sister.

I will be praying for Sandra. These sites may be helpful. MY sister, a cancer survivor, found them to be extremely helpful.

Gary Scott, Senior– and of course our real focus on Our Prayer Request: Awesome-to be asked to pray, and in complete agreement with Gary! Time often gives people real understanding of very sad events in our lives; my husband (of 61 years-deceased five years ago)-had a younger sister that was well educated in a small Christian U. She was married and had one son, and twin boys when her age then was 35 years old. We lived five miles from her, and had a father-in-law and brother -in- law that were Medical Dr.s. Their lives were full of heavy alcoholic beverages for all events. She was diagnosed with breast cancer, went through treatments, breast removed, continued with a “somewhat” normal life taking care of family and teaching in Public School, and treatments .=; which through the years turned into cancer over the entire body.— In those years that was really remarkable, as the knowledge of cancer was not as developed as today.
Her husband lacked any desire to be helpful; so my husband & I tried to help them as much as possible. The details I will not elaborate on. Just to culminate that one night when I was outside watering plants (we lived in Houston), and my six year old, youngest daughter was there playing around; I decided that I had to tell her that Aunt Kathy was going to die; I was able to explain how Kathy had prepared herself through these last few years and Kathy would be in Heaven with God. She listened carefully, and a sweet glow came over her.– My husband opened the door and came out, and said that Kathy had breathed her last two hours ago.– NO ILLUSION: THE ANGELS OF HEAVEN IN A CLEAR SKY–I COULD LITERALLY HEAR THEM SINGING THE MOST MAGNIFICENT CHOURS THAT I HAD EVER HEARD! ” EYE HATH NOT SEEN, OR EARS HEARD WHAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR US!”—- All of us should CONTINUE ON WITH GREAT JOY FROM THE LORD; YOU AND ALL OF US THAT HAVE SOUGHT TO WALK WITH HIM, IT WILL BE GLORIOUS. ( I celebrated with my children a “surprised 85th b.d. that I found out about three days before their arrival –across the U.S. –18 came, but one half of them did not get here! scattered all over. ) with the love of the Heavenly Father I send this! Thanks Skip for making it possible!

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for the encouragement and prayers. We got the “official” report today. The lung cancer from 5 years ago has returned and invaded my lymph nodes. Please pray that we have wisdom and make the right decisions in the coming days. Control really is an illusion…but we have to try. Learning how to trust God in the face of uncertainty is hard. I have started a caring bridge page…www.caringbridge.org. You can look me up under Sandy Smail.
